Just some cute photos of Hedgie having a bath after his nail trimming. He loves to play in the water and try to eat the nail clippers. This is the only time he really likes to be held bare handed. Something about the water is just super soothing to him.
Ready for a nap after all that activity!
Sometimes you are just driving down the street and you see a hedgehog! We wonder if these people know that their house looks like a hedgehog?
Hedgie here. All is well. Just checking in to say “hello”! I had a nice bath and nail trimming today. Now I am drying off and snuggling in the towel. I am still as cute as ever.
Hedgie had a nice warm oatmeal bath today along with a good nail clipping. He loves to snuggle in the towel after his bath until he is dry.
Hedgie was so into his after bath treats that he could care less that Lightning was trying to sniff his backside.
Yummy yummy cat treats. I think the cats were jealous that the hedgehog got treats and they didn’t. Emmerson to the rescue with a cat treat, or 30, for each of the felines.
Love this photo of the grimacing hedgehog.
One happy hedgehog and one happier owner! The new wheel we bought online is amazing. It is so quiet and nothing sticks to the surface!
Hedgie has been on the stinky side lately. He runs a lot at night and his wheel is terribly dirty. He has been getting bathed more frequently to combat the walking in the poopy wheel. We just switch to pine shavings vs the fleece liners we have been using in his cage. It really cuts down on the odor from the wheel because he does a lot more exploring in his cage instead of JUST running on his wheel. He seems happier! With the winter upon us he is up around 7-8pm and not going to sleep until 7-8am! He loves to relocate the wood shavings and make piles and nests.
We found this adorable cat toy at the pet store the other day. The cats loved it! Sadly, it has been knocked under or behind something and we can’t find it anymore. Oops!
We don’t have a current weight on Hedgie but he is over a pound for sure!
He is likely his full grown size at this point so we have to watch how many treats he had and that his food is balanced so he doesn’t get fat. A fat hedgehog is NOT a good thing. He needs LOTS of exercise and he gets that for HOURS running on his wheel at night!
Today David was at Lowes and they had all the toy swimming pools on super blowout! He picked this beauty up for around $2!
Hedgie is LOVING having more play area to run around. He still loves to dig and burry himself in the towels or blankets. These are blankets we only use for play so his little toenails don’t get caught in the fibers.
Hedgie has developed a love of cat treats.
He seems to respond well to Breighton hiding them all over his play area. Hedgie has an awesome nose and is a great hunter.
He loves chin scratches!
B is getting much better with petting him carefully so Hedgie doesn’t ball up on him.
